Christian Pähr, a trained banker, founded Süddeutsche Elektromotorenwerke (SEW) in 1931. Today SEW is one of the best and innovative Drive Technology companies. Nobody could guess that.
Fiscal year 18/19 SEW had more than 17 000 employees around the world.
- 1931: Christian Pähr, "SEW" (Süddeutsche Elektromotoren)
- 1945: Ernst Blickle took over the company’s reins
- 1960: SEW USOCOME opened in Haguenau, France
- 1965: The implementation of the modular concept for gearmotors.
- 1968: International plants of SEW-EURODRIVE
- 1999: New electronic plant in Bruchsal
- 2003: The Ernst Blickle Innovation Center opened its doors in Bruchsal.
- 2010: The opening of the plant for large gear units in Bruchsal
- 2011: The opening of SEW-EURODRIVE Turkey plant
As a family owned company SEW-EURODRIVE, centered in Bruchsal, is a global player but with its locally power. At the end of the fiscal year 19/20 SEW-EURODRIVE had more than 17.000 employees around the world.
